Monarchs provide 3 balanced nutritional meals and 2 snacks throughout the day. All our meals are planned and home-made on the premises each day by our Nursery Chefs. We use fresh fruit and seasonal vegetables and mostly free-range and organic produce.
Our children love cooking!
The children do a lot of cooking at the nursery and will often eat what they have made that day. For example, homemade crumbles, pizzas, chicken fajitas, salads, soups and smoothies would be made by the children in the day as part of a guided activity and then eaten for lunch for an even more enjoyable experience!
They also grow a lot of fruit and vegetables in the ‘allotments’ and sample their own produce at meal times.
We provide balanced meals for any type of specific allergy and dietary requirement. Please let us know so we can cater for your child’s individual needs.
Our Autumn, Spring and Summer menus have been devised by a nutritionist and aim to provide fresh, balanced and healthy meals for all the children. Fresh, purified water is available to the children at all times throughout the day.
We ask parents to provide formula milk to cater for each individual child. Labelled bottles are required and our trained and qualified staff will make up the formula fresh on site in our milk kitchen.We provide full fat (blue top) milk after your child's first birthday in discussion with the parent.
Our Weaning Menus are planned for for children aged 6-12 months. We provide home cooked pureed / mashed fruit and vegetables, meat and vegetarian meals adapted to be safe and nutritious for babies. Parents are welcome to bring their own food from home for children under 18 months. After 12 months of age our meals are prepared or adapted appropriately.
